Mission Statement    
 

The ILCF recognizes and promotes excellence in language education and the study of cultures by:

1. Sponsoring educational projects and programs, and
2. Offering awards and scholarships on behalf of:
  A. Educators,
  B. Students,
  C. Researchers,
  D. Administrators,
  E. and others who are making significant contributions to the profession at the primary through university levels in both the public and private sectors.

ILCF Values as an Organization
These are the things that we believe in, strive toward and are motivated by:

  1. Excellence in all aspects of language education and the study of cultures;
  2. We value people who are focused, innovative, imaginative, creative, dynamic, and persistant;
  3. We value the intercultural mindset where there is an International focus and culture awareness of the supreme value of diversity in intercultural contact and connections;
  4. We value people who are open to change (adaptable) and who recognize the common brotherhood of mankind, regardless of social, economic, religious, or political affiliations and status;
  5. We place a premium on altruistic thought and behavior that serves mankind, and;
  6. We believe that the language people use, along with their understanding of culture, can either bring people together or keep them apart and suspicious of one another.
